STEAK NIGHT
GRILLZILLA DUST

Written by Mark H Schwab

THE STORY — “The Night the Steak Stopped Time”

It was one of those Florida evenings where the sky goes pink, the grill smoke rises slow, and the whole backyard feels like a movie set. Mom and the kids were inside pacing like they were waiting for a roller coaster to open.

Sizzleton stepped outside carrying two thick ribeyes — marbled, cold, and ready for greatness.

He looked at them like they were old friends.

“Alright boys… tonight, you’re making memories.”

He patted them dry, brushed them with a little oil, and reached for the rub that turns beef into a fire‑breathing flavor monster:

GRILLZILLA DUST.

Savory. Pepper‑forward. Smoky. Bold. A rub with enough attitude to make a steak stand up straighter.

He seasoned the ribeye's generously — both sides, edges too — letting the rub melt into the meat like armor.

Inside, the kids were already yelling:

“Is it ready yet?” “Dad, hurry!” “Mom, can we go outside?”

Mom just smiled. “They know when he’s cooking steak.”

CHAPTER 1: THE PREP — “Respect the Beef.”

Ingredients

  • 2 ribeye steaks (1–1.25 inches thick)

  • 1–2 tbsp neutral oil

  • 2–3 tbsp Grillzilla Dust

  • Optional: 1 tbsp butter for finishing

Instructions

  1. Remove steaks from the fridge 20–30 minutes before cooking.

  2. Pat dry thoroughly — moisture ruins crust.

  3. Brush lightly with oil.

  4. Season generously with Grillzilla Dust on all sides.

  5. Let rest while the grill heats up.

The steaks sat there glowing with Grillzilla armor, ready for battle.

CHAPTER 2: THE GRILL — “Two Zones, One Mission.”

Sizzleton fired up the grill:

  • Hot zone for searing

  • Cool zone for finishing

Grill Setup

  • Preheat to 450–500°F on the hot side

  • Keep the cool side around 300–325°F

He laid the steaks over the flames.

Ssssssshhhhhh— The sear hit instantly, sending a cloud of Grillzilla‑infused smoke into the air.

The kids pressed their faces to the sliding glass door.

“Dad’s making the good stuff!”

CHAPTER 3: THE COOK — “Crust First, Feelings Later.”

Searing

  • Sear steaks 2 minutes per side

  • Don’t move them — Grillzilla needs stillness to caramelize

Finishing

Move steaks to the cool zone and cook until they reach:

  • 125°F for rare

  • 130–135°F for medium‑rare

  • 140–145°F for medium

Sizzleton checked the color — that perfect mahogany crust glowing under the grill lights.

Inside, Mom called out:

“Don’t forget mine a little more done!”

He smirked. “I got you.”

CHAPTER 4: THE REST — “Patience Makes Perfect.”

He pulled the steaks and set them on a wooden board, tented loosely with foil.

“Five minutes,” he said.

The kids groaned. Mom laughed. Sizzleton just crossed his arms like a general guarding treasure.

The juices settled. The crust tightened. The aroma filled the whole backyard.

Optional: He added a small pat of butter on top to melt into the crust.

CHAPTER 5: THE FIRST BITE — “Grillzilla Delivers.”

Sizzleton sliced into the first steak.

Pink center. Juices glistening. Crust crackling with Grillzilla Dust magic.

The kids leaned in. Mom raised an eyebrow. Sizzleton smirked.

“Alright… first bite goes to Mom.”

She took it. Her eyes widened. She didn’t say a word — she just nodded slowly, savoring every second.

The kids dove in next, grabbing slices like they were fighting over treasure.

“Dad… this is the BEST steak ever!” “Can we have this tomorrow?” “Make extra next time!”

Sizzleton leaned back in his chair, arms crossed, satisfied.

“That’s Grillzilla Dust, kiddos. Respect the beast.”
