THE FORGING OF THE SIZZLETON EXPRESS
R U KIDDING ME BOOKS
Written by Mark H Schwab
Deep in the back corner of the old Ironbelly Rail Yard, workers uncovered a pile of ancient cook pots — warped, blackened, and still carrying the scent of meals made centuries ago. Nobody knew who cooked in them. Nobody knew what spices had been used. But the metal… the metal felt warm.
The pots were hauled to the foundry, tossed into the smelter, and melted down to create a new engine frame. As the steel liquified, something impossible happened — the seasoning trapped inside those pots didn’t burn away. It fused. It bonded with the molten steel like it had been waiting for this moment.
When the metal cooled, the men at the Ironbelly Rail Yard started constructing a locomotive engine that can pull the heaviest loads. This was going to be a one-of-a-kind engine. The engine block pulsed with heat. When the workers touched it, the steel sizzled under their gloves.
Within hours, the entire locomotive was assembled — but the heat kept rising. Bolts glowed orange. The cabin windows warped. The tracks beneath it began to soften. The crew panicked, calling for emergency shutdown. Too Late. When they tried to extinguish the flames licking along its edges, the fire refused.
The engine was alive.
The fiery engine roared to life on its own, blasting out a plume of flame that lit the sky. The train lurched forward, tearing out of the yard, melting the rails behind it as it thundered toward the distant city of Sizzletown.
Word spread fast. Buildings shook. The ground trembled. People fled the streets as the unstoppable flavor-fueled locomotive barreled closer.
And somewhere across town, Sizzleton felt the heat.
He knew that fire. He recognized that strength. Only someone with flame power in their veins could stand against it.
Sizzleton threw on his teal varsity jacket, flames swirling around him, and summoned the Strength Squad. They assembled instantly — each one ready to face the inferno racing toward their home.
They didn’t know what they were up against. They didn’t know the train wasn’t just dangerous — it was becoming something more. Something connected to them. Something destined.
The runaway flavor engine would not be destroyed. It would be claimed. It would be transformed. It would become…
The SIZZLETON EXPRESS , the train of flame & Flavor
A symbol of their unity.
A weapon of their strength.
A legend forged from ancient steel and unstoppable heat.
THE CHASE TO SIZZLETOWN
The fiery locomotive tore across the countryside, a blazing comet on rails. Every turn of its wheels sent sparks flying like meteor showers. The tracks behind it sagged, melted, and curled into useless ribbons of steel. Birds scattered. Trees bowed. The air shimmered with heat as the runaway engine thundered toward Sizzletown.
Inside the Strength Squad HQ, alarms blared — not mechanical alarms, but the deep, resonant heat pulses only Sizzleton could sense. His flame strength reacted instinctively, flaring brighter as the train drew closer.
Sizzleton stepped forward, jacket igniting at the seams, sunglasses glowing with reflected fire.
“Squad — we move.”
The Strength Squad launched into action.
The Squad Mobilizes
-
Brutus Bulk sprinted to the armory, grabbing heat-resistant gauntlets forged from volcanic iron.
-
Gearshift activated his smoke portals, ready to warp the team across long distances.
-
Vix Valor tightened her flame-proof braids, sparks dancing off her shoulders.
-
Ironwing loaded his massive flavor-shield, capable of absorbing blasts of heat.
They assembled behind Sizzleton, who was already radiating enough fire to make the room glow.
Gearshift opened a swirling smoke gate, and the team stepped through — emerging on a ridge overlooking the main rail line leading into Sizzletown.
And there it was.
The runaway train.
A blazing titan of steel and seasoning, screaming down the tracks with molten fury. Its whistle wasn’t a whistle — it was a roar. A roar of heat, hunger, and unstoppable momentum.
Sizzleton leapt from the ridge, landing on the tracks ahead of the train. The rails hissed beneath his boots. He planted his feet, flames spiraling upward.
The Strength Squad spread out behind him, each taking a position.
The ground vibrated. The air warped. The fiery engine approached, faster and faster, its glow turning the horizon into a sunrise of pure heat.
Vix Valor shouted over the roar, “It’s not slowing down!”
Brutus Bulk slammed his gauntlets together. “Then we make it!”
But Sizzleton raised a hand — calm, steady, burning with purpose.
“No. We don’t stop it. We meet it.”
The train was seconds away.
Sizzleton’s flames surged, forming a blazing barrier across the tracks. The Strength Squad braced themselves, ready for impact.
The runaway engine hit the wall of flame — and instead of exploding, it reacted.
The fire around the train intensified, swirling upward in a cyclone. The engine screamed, not in pain, but in recognition. The flames of the train and the flames of Sizzleton intertwined, spiraling together like two forces meant to collide.
The Strength Squad shielded their eyes as the heat became blinding.
And then—The Moment Everything Changed
The train didn’t crash. It didn’t melt. It didn’t stop.
It merged with the flame.
The runaway engine’s fire wrapped around Sizzleton, and Sizzleton’s flame wrapped around the train. The heat stabilized. The molten rails cooled. The roar softened into a deep, powerful hum.
The Strength Squad watched in awe as the blazing locomotive slowly rolled to a stop, steam rising like breath from a sleeping giant.
Sizzleton stepped forward, placing a hand on the engine’s front plate. The metal didn’t burn him — it welcomed him.
The train’s fire dimmed to a controlled, powerful glow.
Vix Valor whispered, “It… bonded with him.”
Brutus Bulk nodded. “It’s not a runaway anymore.”
Ironwing lowered his shield. “It’s ours.”
Sizzleton smiled, flames flickering across his jacket.
“No… it’s more than ours.”
He looked at the engine — now calm, powerful, and pulsing with flavor-infused heat.
“This is the Sizzleton Express.”
